IT security in 2020

Predicting how the world will look like a hundred years from now might seem to many like an exercise in futility given the rapid pace of technological development, but a prediction of what kind of information security threats await us eight years from now can give a welcome insight if the forecast is made by someone living and breathing in that particular world.

Maksym Schipka was appointed Kaspersky Lab’s Director of Hosted & Streaming Technology Research in 2010. He is responsible for running the Hosted & Streaming Technology Department, where the first and the final frontier for stopping zero-day corporate threats through reliable managed services and the processing of raw ‘on-the-wire’ data streams is established and expanded.

Between 2009 and taking up his present position, Maksym was Director of the European Research Centre for Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research & Analysis Team. He has a degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
