Free tool tracks DNS changes in DNS zone files
Incorrect edits to DNS can have catastrophic consequences such as disconnecting an entire company website or its email servers and causing costly downtime.
LogicMonitor released the free web-based IT ops tool called DNS Change Tracker. The tool tracks DNS changes in DNS zone files. Users can see a historical record of their DNS zone file and will be alerted to any changes.
Steve Francis, LogicMonitor’s Founder and Chief Product Officer, explains, “The DNS Tracker fulfills a simple, but important function for IT ops teams. It provides DNS version control for companies and ensures that every person in the operations team is alerted and aware of DNS changes, good or bad.” Said Francis.
LogicMonitor will release additional functionality with a second version of this free tool for tracking DNS changes in Amazon Route 53 in mid-October.
