Downtime explanation
You’ve probably noticed we were offline yesterday for nearly 13 hours. The problem was with our hosting provider, Sago Networks, who reportedly experienced an issue with their fiber ring and two of its upstream providers.
Unfortunately there was nothing we could do, and the lack of communication between Sago Networks and its customers was nothing short of a disaster. Support tickets went unanswered, phone support was re-routed to an answering machine, and the marketing department was sending out unhelpful template responses. Sadly, this is not the first time, as the quality of their service has been steadily declining in the last few months.
After nearly 8 years with Sago Networks, we are in the process of moving away from their infrastructure to a new provider. If you’re searching for a hosting company, we strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
