Security Enhanced Linux BETA Available

A fully functioning distribution of Security Enhanced Linux is now available in BETA for community and industry evaluation. The three-CD set is available here. The shipping for the three-CD set is free and you can request it by sending an e-mail to this address.

Consistent with open-source programs, the BETA version of SE Linux is being released for appraisal and feedback from the open-source community.

A comprehensive training program for SE Linux is available through the Open Source Development Group, an open-source software training company. The SE Linux Fundamentals course, available now, is a three-day training course that teaches installation and configuration, administration, policies and usage scenarios for SE Linux. An Advanced SE Linux course is under development and will be available in 2003.

Security Enhanced (SE) Linux was initially developed as part of a research initiative within the National Security Agency (NSA). In January 2001, the NSA shook the intelligence and IT community by announcing the development and release of SE Linux under the GNU General Public License.
