Footprints is an iOS geolocation application that enables you to share locations with your friends and family anytime, privately.

With Footprints, you can track locations in the background and share them with others. It all happens automatically, whether your phone is in your hand or in your pocket.

The software shares locations automatically – in real time, all the time. And it does it privately. It’s really different from other apps that require some kind of manual operation to share locations. It’s unlike Facebook Check-ins, too, which requires a check in at each new location.

Footprints also offers a quick and easy interface to check into Facebook Places and map where your Facebook friends are checked in. Map your Footprints and Facebook friends together, so you can always see where everybody is.

Complete privacy is a key feature of Footprints. Your geo-location data is only shared with the people you explicitly grant permission to see your location.

Footprints runs natively on all Apple iOS devices from the 3rd generation on: iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation, and on all iPad models. It requires iOS 4.2 or later.
