Dell to acquire SecureWorks

Dell has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SecureWorks, a provider of information security services. SecureWorks protects information assets, improves compliance and reduces costs for organizations of all sizes.

The terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.

The acquisition is the latest strategic investment by Dell as it expands its portfolio of IT-as-a-Service solutions.

This is the next step in the Dell Services acquisition strategy, continuing their transformation by building on last year’s Perot acquisition.

SecureWorks has a strong relationship with Dell. Dell’s SMB organization currently has an existing services agreement with SecureWorks since 2005.

The SecureWorks platform is scalable, processing billions of events for certified analysts to identify those requiring immediate attention.

SecureWorks offers proprietary solutions for IPS, vulnerability scanning and log management, but it can easily leverage client investments in existing security technologies.
