Compact 1U communication appliance with on-board Ethernet ports built-in

American Portwell Technology unveiled the NAR-4060, a compact 1U rackmount server with six PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet ports. The NAR-4060 is regulatory certification-ready, including FCC, CE and UL. Driven by the Intel 945GC chipset which supports FSB 800/533 MHz, Intel Celeron 400 series 35W processors, dual-channel DDR2 667/533/400 DIMM (up to 4GB), one 3.5″ IDE or SATA HDD, Compact Flash, and SATA Disk-on-Module.

By supporting the Celeron 400 series, the NAR-4060 is able to combine high performance with the power efficiency of a low-power micro architecture. Its 6 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet ports meet the mainstream demand of 4 to 6 ports and the PCI-E lanes connect directly to the Ethernet controllers to provide peak bandwidth of 2GB/s per direction for Gigabit Ethernet support at wire speed. The NAR-4060 is not only RoHS compliant but also environmentally friendly.

The NAR-4060 1U communication appliance platform is an ideal solution for communication/security applications such as Enterprise Internet Security Gateway, Firewall, WAN optimization, Anti-virus Server, Unified Threat Management (UTM), Load Balancing, Network Access Control, Web Applications Delivery, Media Gateway and Triple Play broadcasting for both the enterprise and medium-sized offices.
