Detect and prevent data loss due to misdirected email
NextLabs released Enterprise DLP 3.5, the latest release of its host-based data loss prevention system that proactively applies identity-driven policy to prevent external data leaks, conflict of interest, insider risk, and unauthorized data sharing between employees, trusted partners and customers to achieve continuous compliance.
Misdirected email occurs when customer data or intellectual property is sent to an individual who is not associated with the customer organization or project. Enterprise DLP 3.5 applies Identity-Driven policy to detect cases of misdirected email, interactively warn the sender who is able to proactively self-remediate before the email is sent. Traditional DLP solutions lack the understanding of employees and client relationships to prevent these cases and rely on email quarantine, which delay message delivery and require manual administrative intervention.
Enterprise DLP 3.5 extends the NextLabs endpoint DLP solution with the addition of the Removable Device Enforcer for Windows, which provides granular control over the type, brand, and model of removable devices that can be used at an endpoint. The granular control enforces who can copy a certain type of files to the removable device. With this addition, customers can now deploy a single endpoint DLP solution that provides comprehensive coverage (file system, clipboard, email, instant message, web conferencing, application control, removable devices, network, web, FTP, P2P, and remote access) for Windows or Linux endpoints.
As documents are distributed through electronic means, invisible confidential information is inadvertently exported, allowing valuable insider information, such as document revision history, comments or integral tags to expose protected processes and ideas outside the organization. With the Hidden Data Removal Policy Assistant, the task of cleaning up such information is automated as documents are sent using email or IM.
