KoolSpan awarded in a review of two-factor authentication solutions
KoolSpan announced it has received five-stars and an ‘SC Recommended’ designation in a comparative group review of two-factor authentication technologies in the September edition of SC Magazine, one of the Information Security industry’s leading trade publications. Bethesda, Md.-based KoolSpan made the announcement at VON 2006, a leading industry event for the IP communications market.
Heralded by leading technology, business and Information Security industry trade publications as one of the most innovative two-factor authentication solutions on the market, KoolSpan’s SET Link technology automatically creates secure, encrypted, trusted network links between any two points on any network. SET Link technology eliminates common and traditional network headaches, combining a smart card to smart card architecture with per packet 256-bit AES Ethernet encryption to protect sensitive information without impacting bandwidth utilization or performance.
According to the report, authored by SC Magazine’s David Ludlow, KoolSpan’s SET Link technology is ‘a very simple system to use, and we were surprised at how quickly we had our review unit working.’ KoolSpan’s flagship SecurEdge Lock and Key units, as well as SecurEdge Manager, earned an overall rating of five stars with specific five-star ratings in Ease of Use, Performance and Documentation. The review concluded that KoolSpan is ‘an excellent way of adding hardware-based authentication to your existing systems.”
