Secure Computing Launches SafeWord SecureWire Access Management Appliance
Secure Computing Corporation announced the launch of its powerful SafeWord(r) SecureWire(tm) identity and access management (IAM) appliance – the access, authentication and compliance hub for the entire network. SecureWire simplifies and provides secure access management for inside and outside the perimeter by consolidating all policies on a single device and enables configuration compliance that ensures only properly configured end-point devices can access the network.
Secure Computing’s SecureWire is designed to simplify access to applications, data and network resources without compromising security by hosting and managing all external access methods on a single appliance: VPNs, Citrix applications, extranets, Web mail and much more. SecureWire can also host and manage all internal access methods as well: LAN connections, wireless LANs and even mainframes. By having one comprehensive appliance to control your access methods, both inside and outside of your network, administrative and maintenance costs can be greatly reduced.
A key component of managing identity is authenticating users. SafeWord(r) industry-leading strong authentication comes standard with every SecureWire appliance to deliver proof-positive identity of all users. SafeWord strengthens network connectivity with strong, one time password user authentication included in the base product. SecureWire also provides native support for Active Directory, LDAP and RADIUS while supporting a wide range of authenticators, including smart cards, biometric devices and a range of third-party tokens.
