Apani Networks Debuts Industry’s Most Scalable Software for Securing Inside the Network Perimeter; EpiForce 2.0 Launched at Interop-New York
NEW YORK CITY. – December 12, 2005 – Apani Networks, the leading enterprise network security software provider focused on securing inside the network perimeter, has introduced EpiForce 2.0, a major upgrade to the company’s flagship security software product at the 2005 Interop-New York Exhibition. EpiForce 2.0 can now support up to 100,000 software agents with as many as two million security policy relationships, all managed through a centralized administration console.
Designed for large distributed deployments, Apani’s EpiForce 2.0 secures data in motion and protects data at rest throughout the entire network environment, regardless of operating platform. Developed from the ground up to secure inside the network perimeter, EpiForce eliminates the need to establish gateways to manage and administer security policies. Capable of logically segmenting the network into dynamic security zones, EpiForce 2.0 enforces security relationships, reports on attempted unauthorized activity and provides an effective audit trail to reduce the overall cost of audit.
EpiForce 2.0 has expanded functionality to now support up to 100,000 agents, each capable of enforcing multiple security policies. Enhanced tiered administration features offer new levels of flexibility and manageability while supporting multiple security zones that can be centrally or locally managed. EpiForce’s modular system architecture provides for numerous deployment schemes which may be phased to address the specific security installation requirements of large, distributed enterprise or government network environments.
“EpiForce 2.0 represents the next generation of security protection for inside the network perimeter,” said David Lynch, vice president of marketing, Apani Networks. “Transparent to both users and applications it can be deployed to secure applications most susceptible to security breach, such as CRM, ERP, Inventory tracking systems as well as records management systems. The advanced development work incorporated in EpiForce 2.0 for functionality, scalability and manageability continues to position Apani’s software system ahead of the competition”.
“With Apani’s EpiForce 2.0, large organizations now have an effective solution for security inside the network perimeter with the scalability network managers desire,” said Charles Kolodgy, research director, Security Products at IDC. “Operating at the network layer, EpiForce uses a novel policy management system to transparently secure critical information without application re-writes, upgrades or replacements.”
Pricing and Availability
Shipments of EpiForce 2.0 will begin in late December for existing clients, with general availability by mid January 2006. Pricing will start at $30,000, which includes the central management console and an initial agent deployment.
