Syhunt Security Announces Sandcat 1.6 with Expanded Testing for Web Applications
July 13, 2005 — Syhunt Security today announced the release of the 1.6 version of the Sandcat Platinum, a innovative security assessment software suite for today’s sophisticated Web application environments. Sandcat 1.6 ensures the security of Web applications by identifying vulnerabilities such as SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) accross a site. This new version focuses on fault injection testing, adding cutting-edge web application hacking techniques, plus stronger static analysis, and hardening features.
Sandcat, designed for scanning for SANS Top Twenty vulnerabilities, now also defends against the OWASP’s Top Ten Most Critical Web Application Security Vulnerabilities. This new feature set is incredibly robust, and provides everything security professionals and network administrators need to minimize risk and protect the Web application layer. An additional option allows to evaluate security threats and identify appropriate countermeasures at the web server configuration stage, providing extra protection against web hacking techniques and the highest levels of application security.
Sandcat 1.6 has more than double the fault injection capabilities of its previous version. A new, improved scanning engine uses intelligent filters, significantly reducing false positive alarms. In addition to expanded capabilities, a new smart update mechanism can be configured to automatically upgrade the software components.
Sandcat 1.6 is completely compliant with the HTTPS (SSL) and the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) standards. Sandcat 1.6 is currently available for all Windows versions including Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, and can be used to protect any Web application environments.
