CyberGuard Adds Enterprise Security and Channel Marketing Veteran as Vice President of Global Marketing
Bracknell, UK., April 26, 2005 – CyberGuard(r) Corporation (NASDAQ: CGFW), a global provider of security solutions that protect the business-critical information assets of Global 2000 enterprises and government organizations, announced it has hired John Doyle as Vice President of Global Marketing. He will be responsible for shaping and leading CyberGuard’s product and marketing efforts worldwide, as well as product management, communications, and market development. He will work closely with the company’s international network of channel partners.
Doyle is a seasoned marketing veteran with over 20 years experience in developing and managing marketing programs for some of the leading names in enterprise security. Most recently, Doyle served as Director of Product Marketing for Nortel Networks, where he was responsible for the firm’s market leading Enterprise Security and Routing portfolios, as well as Nortel’s worldwide Enterprise Security marketing strategy. He also conceived, launched, and executed Nortel’s three phase Secure Routing Technology strategy in the VPN market and helped redefine the way VPN gateways are positioned in Enterprise networks.
“Throughout his career, John has demonstrated a unique ability to create visionary marketing programs that support business goals and enhance the bottom line,” said Clawson. “As a company that sells our products exclusively through resellers, we were particularly attracted to John’s channel marketing background, and look for him to work closely with our network of channel partners to ensure that they have the tools to successfully distribute our enterprise security solutions. Adding a marketing executive with John’s expertise was one of our previously stated goals.”
Prior to Nortel, Doyle also directed product marketing and product management organizations for a number of enterprise security firms at various stages of development, including Bay Networks, CSI Net link, IDEA, Inc., SoftLinx, Inc., Data General Corporation, and Raytheon Missile Systems.
“This was a tremendous opportunity to join a company with a great base of enterprise customers, proven network security solutions, and a clear strategy built around organic and acquisitive growth,” said Doyle. “I believe that my background will complement CyberGuard’s short and long-term goals and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the management team.”
