The Spanish Victory of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5.0

One of the most authoritative Spanish computer magazines, PC Today, published the results of independent comparative tests in the October edition. The testers compared the most popular antivirus solutions on the market.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 received high marks and the “Recommended by the Editors” status.

The Kaspersky Lab product significantly outclassed competitor products in the PC Today tests: F-Secure Anti-virus 2005, Panda Titanium with TruePrevent, McAfee VirusScan Professional 8, Norton Antivirus 2005, BitDefender 8, Nod32 2.0, AVAST! Home 4.1, F-Prot Personal, SP Anti-Virus Plus, Sophos Anti-Virus ? AVG Free

The products were compared across a number of features that consumers value: ease of installation and use, system load, detection rates and services. Detection was scrutinized closely, with speed and number and format of archived files scanned being most important. Features such as frequency of database updates, availability in multiple languages and compatibility with Microsoft SP2 were also evaluated.

Once all of the separate marks were combined, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5.0 emerged as leader. The testers awarded the “recommended by the editors” status to Kaspersky. They especially praised the exceptional detection rates, highest amidst competitor products, modern yet multi-functional interface, the hourly updates and the low load on system resources.
