Kaspersky Lab presents Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Sendmail with Milter API
Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer, has extended its product portfolio with the release of the commercial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Sendmail with Milter API.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Sendmail with Milter API protects Linux/ Unix server mail traffic. The program works in conjunction with Sendmail and supports Sendmail’s Content Management (Milter) API. This interface provides external applications with access to mail messages processed by Sendmail. It also offers additional processing and editing of the contents and meta-data of mail messages.
All incoming and outgoing mail traffic is analyzed to provide full monitoring over possible sources of virus penetration. The solution quickly and effectively neutralizes viruses, preventing them from spreading throughout the system.
The product has been developed to be maximally user-friendly. Pre-defined antivirus options are available; depending on the configuration chosen by the administrator, either the complete message can be analyzed or individual elements – the message header, body, or attachment. Additional mail traffic filtration by name, MIME type (for attached files), and size (of decoded attachments) provides extra security for messages. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Sendmail with Milter API not only protects electronic correspondence but also ensures its integrity. A copy of the message is made before execution of any operation which will lead to the message being rejected, blocked or modified. This makes it possible to restore the original message at any time.
