Excedent Appoints Adam Williams as Channel Sales Manager
Vienna, Virginia (June 14, 2004) – Excedent Technologies, the leading provider of managed email hosting with integrated security threat prevention, today announced that Adam Williams has been hired as the company’s first channel sales manager. In his new position, Williams will be responsible for leading sales and partnership initiatives, primarily in the service provider and reseller space. He will be responsible for aligning Excedent with third parties such as Web hosts, ISPs, systems integrators and other Web and application service providers looking to offer premium grade business email hosting and Webmail services to their customers.
“Adam brings a great deal of industry sales experience to our company,” explained Patrick Matthews, CEO of Excedent Technologies. “He has proven his ability to sell hosting and related premium services through the channel both domestically and on an international level. His experience is crucial to the continued success of our business. I am confident that Adam will help take our business to the next level and contribute significantly to our current growth and profitability.”
Prior to joining Excedent, Adam was the Director of Sales at Secure Software where he was responsible for growing their channel sales program while guiding and directing nine salespeople. Before that, Adam was the channel sales manager at Plesk, a Web hosting automation firm where he managed 300 client users and 50 channel partners. Adam began his career at UUNET Technologies, the world’s largest ISP at the time, as an international account executive where he successfully prospected and managed major accounts in Central and South America.
“Adam could not have joined our team at a better time,” said Matthews. “Businesses are really beginning to understand the value that an established email outsourcing partner brings to the table. That value is spreading through the channel as service providers are realizing the need to offer premium grade email hosting services. We help service providers turn the cost and resource burden of email hosting into a revenue and profit center.”
Excedent currently supports more than 2,500 small business customers and 20 resellers ranging from regional service providers, ISPs, systems integrators, direct selling companies, and large carriers focused on major verticals.
