Sybari Announces Linux Platform Support for Lotus Domino Users
East Northport, NY¯(May 12, 2004)¯ Sybari Software Inc., a leading developer of security solutions for messaging and collaboration systems, today announced it has expanded platform support of Antigen 7.0 for Lotus Domino to include servers running Red Hat and Novell’s SUSE Linux operating systems. With support for AIX, Sun Solaris, and Windows already available, Sybari is quickly becoming the antivirus solution of choice for Domino/Notes administrators that need to support multiple operating systems and maintain virus free messaging and collaboration environments. Antigen 7.0 for Lotus Domino Linux is now shipping and available.
“Linux has quickly become one of the leading operating systems for Lotus Domino users,” said Tom Buoniello, vice president of product management for Sybari Software. “The increase in virus and spam threats has made it necessary for Domino users to protect their mission critical applications. With the added support for Linux, Sybari is maintaining its focus on providing customers with the features and functionality required to secure messaging solutions.” In addition to Antigen 7.0 for Domino Linux, Sybari is also expanding the product features available to AIX and Sun Solaris users. Lotus Domino users can take advantage of additional virus scan engines and increased capabilities including the Multiple Scan Engine Manager. The new features are currently shipping and available.
Sybari’s Antigen for Domino offers a preemptive line of defense from propagating e-mail viruses, worms, and malicious code. This new release offers Domino administrators significant benefits including real-time scanning of e-mail and Notes databases and comprehensive protection through Sybari’s multiple scan engine approach, as well as advanced content-filtering capabilities. Specifically designed to provide maximum protection while lowering administrative costs, Antigen detects, blocks, purges, filters, and removes viruses and other undesirable documents before they compromise the integrity of Enterprise Domino servers, Notes and Outlook clients, and other vulnerable systems. Antigen for Domino also includes Antigen Worm Purgeâ„?, a proactive safeguard tool that allows network administrators to prevent the overload of virus-generated messages churned out when worm viruses are unleashed in an environment. Worm Purge deletes messages containing worm viruses in their entirety and prevents new worm threats from spreading.
