Sigaba’s DiMaggio Presented with AFCEA International 2004 Meritorious Service Award

San Mateo, Calif. — May 11, 2004 — Secure Data in Motion, dba Sigaba®, the leading provider of secure message management solutions, today announced that Captain Kathryn “Kathy” DiMaggio, USN (Ret), of its Federal Services Division, has been recognized by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) with a 2004 International Meritorious Service award.

According to Vice Admiral Herb Brown, USN (ret) and president and CEO, AFCEA International: “[Kathy’s] singular efforts have helped to enhance and foster the goals and objectives of the Association, and the communications, electronics, intelligence and information systems communities we represent.”

This award follows a distinguished career by DiMaggio in the United States Navy. She has received numerous additional awards in her career, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achieve Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal and two awards of the National Defense Service Medal.

DiMaggio continues to actively participate in numerous AFCEA programs. Most recently, she has taken a leadership role in the AFCEA Northern Virginia Chapter volunteering on the Programs Committee and the 2004 Naval IT Day Committee. She has also served as member and assistant to the president of the Newport Chapter, president of the Tokyo Chapter and volunteer for AFCEA TechNet International.

DiMaggio holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin; Master of Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, and; Masters of Arts from the Naval War College.
