North East Wales NHS Trust to Pilot iLumin’s Secure Mail System Secure-DX
North East Wales NHS Trust, based in Wrexham, North Wales, has chosen to pilot iLumin’s Secure Mail Product, Secure-DX. This will enable local GP practices to communicate electronically with hospital consultants and departments, in a secure traceable way, in order to submit and receive patient referrals.
Dr Peter Rutherford, Medical Director, said: “We have felt that a technology-based system able to speedily deliver secure, patient confidential information has been long overdue. The iLumin system offers us just a solution and will greatly assist us in our communications with our partner GPs and other outlying medical services.”
Gareth Evans, Managing Director of iLumin Software Services said: “Secure-DX is already widely used in other markets and sectors to deliver confidential and sensitive information over the internet. We have always seen the NHS as a natural home for the technology too and so we are delighted that the North East Wales NHS Trust has decided to trial the product. If successful, it will be implemented across the geography of the NE Wales NHS Trust and will help them continue to provide an improved service to the general public.
