$150,000 IT Security Scholarship Fund Available
SAGINAW, MI – IP3 Inc., the nation’s leader in Internet security education workshops and CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, are awarding $150,000 in scholarship seats for the 2004 workshop series From Strategy to Reality: Managing Porous Perimeters.
“If you want to protect your business, this workshop is key,” said Lori Conover who received a scholarship to attend IP3’s 2003 San Diego workshop. “The workshop is an excellent balance of theory and real life situations and will bring you up to speed on various security products, cutting edge technology and recent case studies.” While attending the workshop, Conover also won a CompTIA Security+ voucher and passed the certification test. “Most of the information covered in the IP3 workshop workbook was on the Security+ exam,” she said.
The two-day program explores critical security items such as the NIST Guidelines, SANS/FBI Top 20 and the President’s National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, wireless deployment, spam, internal theft of intellectual property and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Full and partial scholarships are being awarded for the $795 workshop. “Participation in these security education workshops is a valuable benefit for our CompTIA IT professional members,” said Gene Salois, vice president of certification for CompTIA. “With security such a key issue in the business process today, we encourage everyone to apply for these scholarship seats and take full advantage of the broad-based security education being offered.”
At the end of the workshop, participants will be ready to create an effective security strategy utilizing the vast array of program materials: a comprehensive workbook identifying the latest security tools, bookmarks and URLs; the IP3 Security Tools CD, packed with security tools and resources; and access to ongoing updates from the experts at IP3.
