Only Language Independent Anti-Spam Solution For The Enterprise Is A Win For Sybari’s Global Users
East Northport, NY¯(November 25, 2003)¯Momentum builds at Sybari Software, Inc., the authority in secure messaging and collaboration, with Sybari Advanced Spam Defense (ASD), the only language independent anti-spam solution for the enterprise. As the demand for comprehensive, anti-spam solutions increases, Sybari is well positioned by offering a highly specialized, scalable anti-spam solution to eliminate the onslaught of unsolicited bulk e-mail from wreaking havoc on networks.
“With over 11 global office locations providing localized support and service, we needed an anti-spam solution without language boundaries,” said Marc Olson, president of Sybari Software EMEA. “Through our partnership with Commtouch we are able to extend an additional level of service to our customers and partners by providing a robust anti-spam solution for their Microsoft servers that is independent of language.”
Through their alliance with Commtouch, Sybari is able to provide server side anti-spam protection for their customers’ Exchange servers. With Sybari ASD, enterprise customers benefit from an all-inclusive, unique scanning approach to spam detection via two pioneering technologies, the Sybari ASD Spam Detection Service Center and the stand-alone Sybari ASD Enterprise Gateway Module, both of which are Powered by Commtouch. The Service Center gathers information about new spam attacks from multiple sources, and analyzes the input using patent pending technology. The solution assigns a digital signature per e-mail and carries out scanning on that signature rather than on the content or sender domain of the message, information that can be easily modified by spammers. The Center then identifies and detects spam, classifies the data, matches its stored information against outstanding queries for spam detection from the ASD Enterprise Gateway, and replies in real-time back to the Gateway with a prioritized and accurate classification. Enterprise privacy is maximized because the content of enterprise e-mail messages is transparent to the ASD Service Center.
The ASD Gateway receives all incoming messages before they arrive at the enterprise mail server, filters them according to a series of predefined policies, executes local spam detection procedures on suspected spam, queries the ASD Service Center about the status of messages that could not be resolved locally, and processes suspicious messages based on a combination of results, both from the local ASD Gateway and classifications supplied by the Service Center. Sybari ASD’s unique analytical querying method enables scanning to be independent of language.
Businesses today operate under a global economy. International communications are dependent upon messaging systems for collaboration due to time differences and hours of operation. In order to maximize productivity and communications, the increasing amount of spam surfacing on servers cannot be ignored Businesses must overcome the spam challenge by deploying solutions that enforce policy against unsolicited e-mail propagating throughout their networks.
“The success of any software solution is measured by its ability to adapt to a global economy,” said Gideon Mantel, CEO of Commtouch. “Through our alliance with Sybari and their integration of our technology, they are able to provide their 8 million+ users worldwide with a technologically advanced anti-spam tool which is scalable across any size messaging infrastructure no matter how complex.”
