The Training Camp Reveals Windows Server Administration and Security Skills in Demand
Philadelphia, PA November 17, 2003 Microsoft Windows Server administration is the most in-demand skill-set according to a recent survey. The Training Camp, the industry leader in accelerated learning for information technology, polled over 500 IT professionals, to find which IT skill was currently needed most in their organizations.
Over a quarter of respondents ticked Windows Server Administration, which was closely followed by security with 18 percent. Cisco and other networking skills was the third main category.
“Network engineers are being asked to do more, and the increase in security risks, as well as government legislation, makes securing network traffic and data files essential,” said Ed Denzler, CEO of The Training Camp. “Web server administration and management skills will continue to be important, and a good area to focus on for IT professionals looking to expand their role and develop their career.”
The most popular courses that respondents had taken most recently were the MCSE and CCNA or CCNA / CCDA dual certification. The Training Camp s new 14-day accelerated MCSE 2003 course provides IT professionals with the knowledge and skills to install, configure, support, secure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2000- and 2003-based networks.
“About a quarter of people we surveyed were aware of job openings in their organization, but over half said they knew of no vacancies. With budgets still low and new hires less common, companies need to invest in skills enhancement for current employees, to keep up with fast pace of current technology developments, including the new Windows 2003 server. That s why The Training Camp is a staunch advocate of accelerated learning combined with efficient certification,” added Denzler.
