Blue Coat Integrates SurfControl Filtering Onto Secure Proxy Appliance

(Nasdaq: BCSI) today announced the integration of SurfControl’s (London: SRF, Nasdaq Europe: SRFC) leading Content Filtering Database with Blue Coat’s ProxySG(TM) secure proxy appliance. The combined, on-proxy solution will provide customers with simplified installation, increased reliability and higher performance of enterprise content filtering.

The ProxySG with SurfControl content filtering leverages advanced proxy technology and policy processing architecture to provide comprehensive content control for user communications over the Web. The solution supports the world-leading SurfControl Content Database, which is made up of more than 5 million sites in 40 well-organized categories, and offered in more than 65 languages. Content is kept current with a combination of expert human review, state-of-the art automated tools and customer submissions.
