McAfee Internet Security 5.0 Surpassed Competition with Ease of Use and Unique Features

— Browser Buddy and Password Management features take away the inconvenience of managing multiple passwords and usernames to regularly visited Web sites by enabling users to store them in an encrypted database. Every time a user visits a Web Site, the Browser Buddy will automatically display the appropriate username and password (in an encrypted form) which the user can simply drag to the site’s password field.

Editors were also pleased with the configuration assistant in MIS 5.0, which allows the user to enter private/personal information into a safe database, so that when malicious programs such as trojan horses or spyware try to send this sensitive information over the Internet, MIS 5.0 will block transmission and alert the user of the attempt. Other features such as ad/pop-up blocking software, file-shredding capability, and a cookie filter helped propel McAfee Internet Security 5.0 into the round-up’s top position.
