Woburn, Mass., ¾ June 28, 2002— nCipher plc (LSE:NCH), a leading provider of cryptographic IT security solutions, today announced that nShield, nCipher’s industry-leading hardware security module (HSM), has been awarded Entrust Ready?†status for interoperability with Entrust Authorityâ„? 6.0 software, Entrust’s current enhanced Internet security software offering. This is the latest Entrust Ready status awarded to nCipher, and showcases the tight integration and ongoing commitment by nCipher to support Entrust’s industry-leading product portfolio.
Networks that adhere to best practice security measures are built using a wide range of encryption-based hardware and software tools, which need to interoperate seamlessly. By achieving Entrust Ready status, customers are able to combine nShield’s hardware-based, FIPS 140 Level 3 validated protection and management of cryptographic keys with the Entrust Authority software. Together, the two products provide a highly scalable and yet flexible security infrastructure.
nCipher’s technology enables organizations to establish a common framework to protect and manage cryptographic keys, which are the foundation for a wide range of security tools.
