Enterasys Networks Executive Speaks At ComNet 2002
PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 31, 2002–Enterasys Networks (NYSE: ETS), a leader in enterprise networking solutions, announced that Julie Lucas, General Manager of Security Solutions for Enterasys, will speak at the 2002 ComNet Show on a panel entitled “Disaster Recovery: What Every Network Manager Should Know.” This year’s panel, including members from DataMirror Corporation, BrightStor Storage Solutions, Network World and IBM Tivoli, is focused on the critical importance of developing an actionable disaster recovery plan in light of recent world events. Lucas and other panel members will discuss the necessary elements of a disaster relief plan including storage capacity, redundancies in systems, and corporate policies for addressing a company’s ability to react quickly to a disaster event.
Lucas joined Enterasys Networks in July 2001 as the company’s General Manager for Security Solutions and is responsible for the company’s security solutions. Prior to Enterasys, Lucas was the Information Assurance Practice Director for Global Network Technology Services (GNTS) where she spearheaded the design and implementation of the company’s Information Assurance service offerings. Lucas was an officer in the United States Navy from 1988 to 2000 and was the Naval Computer Incident Response Team (NAVCIRT) officer in 1996. From 1996 through 2000, she developed the NAVCIRT into a world-class incident response team, which was responsible for detecting and responding to attacks on Navy and Marine Corps systems worldwide. Lucas also served as the Assistant Director for Data Communications for the Pacific Fleet, as well as director of the Pacific Fleet’s largest training center and computer repair shop.
Lucas has briefed multiple audiences over the years on a variety of computer security-related topics, including presentations at SANS conferences, RSA 2001, and the Business Week CIO Summit.
