Black & Veatch Management Consulting achieves accreditation as a RPO from CMMC-AB
To address growing cybersecurity concerns, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has introduced the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirement for federal contractors.
To help federal contractors prepare for their Level 1 – 3 assessment, Black & Veatch Management Consulting has achieved accreditation as a Registered Provider Organization (RPO) from the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB).
The DoD created the CMMC to combine various cybersecurity standards and best practices across five different maturity levels that range from basic cyber hygiene to advanced levels of threat management capabilities. The new framework builds upon existing regulations to specifically protect controlled unclassified information.
Each DoD contract awarded will stipulate a designated level of security requirement, enforcing a much-needed level of protection for DoD contractors. Black & Veatch Management Consulting is now listed on the CMMC-AB Marketplace as an accredited RPO, authorizing it to deliver these consulting services to federal contractors looking to achieve readiness to become Level 1 – 3 certified.
“With this accreditation, Black & Veatch Management Consulting is now qualified and has trained assessors who can help organizations as they prepare for certification,” said Marty Travers, group president with Black & Veatch. “These readiness services will determine a contractor’s ability to meet a pre-determined set of controls and maturity level established by the CMMC program in order to meet or retain their federal contractor status.”
“Cybersecurity challenges are proliferating at a rapid pace,” said Chris Wilkinson, associate vice president with Black & Veatch Management Consulting. “Compliance with the CMMC provides Defense Industrial Base organizations with standards for strong cybersecurity programs. Compliance is key to the development and maintenance of strong security.”
