Virsec expands executive team to further drive business acceleration
Virsec reported significant momentum in the first half of 2021 with solid revenue growth, strategic customer validation and testing, and prominent industry acceptance of its non-traditional approach to reducing cyber threats.
To further drive business acceleration, the company has appointed Jennifer Leggio as Chief Marketing Officer, and Kevin Jones as Vice President of Public Sector and Business Development. Both are cybersecurity veterans with a proven history of leading high-growth companies into their next phases.
Leggio is an experienced leader and executive with more than 20 years of security marketing, communications, business strategy, and operations experience. She has held leadership roles at Fortinet, Sourcefire, Cisco, Digital Shadows, Flashpoint, and Claroty. A frequent speaker and writer on industry topics, Leggio was also recognized by SC Media in 2019 for her leadership in and advocacy in the industry for truth in marketing, coordinated disclosure, and her commitment to reducing harm.
Kevin Jones joins Virsec as its Vice President of Public Sector and Business Development. Jones is a visionary sales leader with proven expertise and a history of building results-oriented success for early to mid-stage growth companies. Over the course of his career, he has lead public sector and government strategies in increasingly senior positions with CrowdStrike, SkyHigh Networks, Symantec, and Clearwell.
As organizations worldwide face the growing sophistication of cyberattacks, the demand for effective solutions is skyrocketing. Advanced attack techniques that execute at runtime at the memory layer have become mainstream, and companies struggle to combat them.
Virsec’s strong growth correlates with increasing board-level concerns about the financial, safety, and intellectual property impacts of evolving threat scenarios and the subsequent need to have deeper visibility into application workloads at runtime.
“2021 is a pivotal year for Virsec. The industry realizes the critical need to protect application workloads at runtime,” said Dave Furneuax, Chief Executive Officer of Virsec. “Its security platform has quickly gained a reputation for being the most resilient and effective solution to protect any application workload and environment. Organizations with some of the world’s largest and most complex operating environments are increasingly turning to Virsec, and it is because the company has the technology to deliver the utmost protection.”
Because of the increasing demand for Virsec’s unique solution, the company has also expanded its global footprint as it addresses more demand from both customers and partners. To support this, Virsec has also appointed Robert Nobilo as regional director, Australia, and New Zealand, who recently served in strategic sales leadership roles with Palo Alto Networks and Dimension Data, and Girish Rao as regional director, APAC, who brings high-growth expertise from his tenure at Checkmarx, CA Technologies, and IBM.
As part of its global expansion into 16 countries over the past year, Virsec has built an increasingly solid strategic alliance partner network. It recently expanded its relationship with Australia’s leading ICT security services and solutions provider, Baidam Solutions. Virsec also secured a strategic partnership with RAH and Yotta in India and expanded its presence in the EMEA market, collaborating with integrator Cornet Solutions in Japan.
Over the past five months, Virsec has made significant investments in innovation, business leadership, and growth, including the addition of well-respected cybersecurity leaders John Chambers and Jim Routh as board and company advisors to further position Virsec as the cybersecurity leader to watch.
The Virsec Security Platform 2.0 delivered a powerful solution for container workload protection with runtime visibility and zero-dwell-time defense throughout running container images, including binaries, libraries, interpreted code, and memory.
