Automox hires Christopher Hass as director of information security and research
Automox, the cloud-native cyber hygiene platform provider, announced the appointment of Christopher Hass as director of information security and research.
In this role, Hass will lead the development of security policies and procedures to strengthen business application protection, act as the organization’s representative to customers, partners and the public, and oversee the selection, testing, deployment and maintenance of security hardware and software products.
Hass joins Automox from LogRhythm, where he held the role of principal threat engineer and interacted with customers to share information on hacking campaigns and related threats. Prior to LogRhythm, he helped manage the threat research team at Cylance and served as a cybersecurity analyst for the United States Department of Defense.
“With how sophisticated the threat landscape has become over the last few years, it has never been more important for organizations to ensure that they have the cyber hygiene basics covered,” said Hass.
“This is exactly what Automox is automating for its customers, and I could not be more excited to help companies around the globe harden their systems and implement robust cyber hygiene programs.”
The Automox platform improves cyber resiliency through the foundational hardening of systems by automating the enforcement of critical patches, software updates, security configurations and custom scripting across diverse endpoint environments.
Built on an open, extensible automation architecture, the platform enables IT operations to create scripted tasks specific to the enterprise’s needs, known as Automox Worklets™, which are shared through the company’s recently launched community, Automox Alive.
“Chris brings an impressive knowledge of how malicious players are targeting organizations that will be incredibly beneficial to our customers and will play a significant role in the evolution of our platform,” said Jay Prassl, CEO and Founder, Automox.
“He shares our view that strong cybersecurity programs start and end with mastering the cyber hygiene fundamentals. It’s terrific to have someone with his background on board and ready to help take our platform’s abilities even further.”
