SwiftStack’s new software appliance provides simple provisioning of hybrid cloud storage
SwiftStack, the leader in multi-cloud data storage and management, announced the new SwiftStack Software Appliance, featuring 1click Application Profiles that simplify the provisioning, tuning, and ongoing management of storage for leading data-driven enterprise applications.
SwiftStack’s first generally available 1click Application Profile is for Splunk Enterprise with SmartStore, Splunk’s optimized data architecture that reduces infrastructure costs and operational complexity.
The SwiftStack Software Appliance automates the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all software components on the storage nodes housing the application data sets. 1click Application Profiles are then implemented through a single-click process to configure a ready-to-use storage system tailored for the specific application.
With the 1click Application Profile for Splunk Enterprise, Splunk users can instantly provision storage that is plug-compatible with SmartStore and quickly realize its benefits.
“With the Software Appliance and 1click Application Profile for Splunk, enterprises using SmartStore can be online with scale-out hybrid cloud storage in a matter of minutes, with no special expertise required,” said Hiren Chandiramani, VP of Product Management at SwiftStack.
“SwiftStack has always received positive feedback on its installation and management simplicity, but the 1click Application Profile takes ease-of-use to an entirely new level.”
Building on SwiftStack’s strategic partnership with Cisco, the SwiftStack Software Appliance is initially available for the Cisco UCS S3260 storage server. Cisco offers pre-defined Solution Bundles for SwiftStack which are supported by the software appliance, including a three-chassis Cisco UCS S3260 configuration with 672TB of usable storage capacity.
The SwiftStack Software Appliance and 1click Application Profiles will support additional server models and enterprise applications over time.
