Madhav Sonthalia joins Zimperium as CPO
Zimperium announced Madhav Sonthalia has joined the company as Chief Product Officer. Sonthalia’s significant experience building and delivering enterprise cyber security products will help Zimperium continue its industry-leading growth and further extend its leadership position.
As more companies, especially those in the public sector, financial and healthcare industries, move toward a mobile-centric approach, there is an increased need to protect the sensitive information living on mobile devices.
Zimperium’s on-device, machine learning-based detection protects mobile devices and data at machine speed, without the delays and limitations of cloud-based detection. The company’s patented machine learning technology has detected every mobile exploit over the last five years, on-device and without requiring updates.
“Madhav is an excellent addition to the Zimperium team,” said Shridhar Mittal, chief executive officer of Zimperium. “He is a seasoned leader whose keen abilities, acute knowledge and unrivaled perspective will allow us to further extend our leadership position in the mobile security market.”
Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the enterprise and cyber security industry, Sonthalia will lead all aspects of Zimperium’s Product Development, including Product Management, Engineering and Operations.
Most recently, as the Global Vice President – Innovation at Optiv, Sonthalia led the engineering team for all Optiv Cyber Security Services including Managed Security Services (MSS), Cloud Security, Next-Gen SOC, Security Automation and Orchestration, Risk Management and Big Data Analytics. Prior to Optiv, Sonthalia led the product development and engineering organizations for iSIGHT Security, which was acquired by FireEye.
Sonthalia has held numerous executive roles at leading cyber security companies like Symantec (via acquisition of PGP Corporation), Cisco Systems, NetApp, and McAfee.
“There’s no company better positioned than Zimperium to tackle the critical security gap challenges today’s enterprises are facing related to strategic mobile transformation,” Sonthalia said. “It is a privilege to work with the global leader in mobile threat defense – the new favorite endpoint target for attackers in the commercial and public sector – and I look forward to advancing the positive impact we can have with companies around the world.”
