GuidePoint Security expands its IAM consulting practice to reduce cyber risk
GuidePoint Security announced the expansion of its Identity & Access Management (IAM) consulting practice. With a historically high number of remote workers and the continued movement of applications and data to the cloud, Identity and Access Management has become central to cybersecurity, with estimates putting the market size between $22-25 billion by 2025.
GuidePoint’s IAM consulting practice expands upon the company’s existing capability of helping customers of all sizes evaluate, select, implement and maintain best-fit IAM solutions, to now also include program assessment and strategy and roadmap development.
By assembling a team of IAM practitioners, who have decades of combined experience delivering solutions for customers across various industries, GuidePoint’s IAM practice is designed to help organizations effectively govern and manage user access to critical information assets by automating and standardizing business processes. GuidePoint Security’s capabilities span the three pillars of IAM:
- Identity governance & administration (IGA): Capabilities include deployment of IGA solutions to automate Joiner, Leaver and Mover user lifecycle processes, automate provisioning and de-provisioning, and improve access certification processes for business-critical applications and infrastructure. Automating these key processes results in the reduction of operational cost and risk, while improving an organization’s security posture and user experience.
- Access management: GuidePoint helps organizations select and deploy access management solutions to deliver authentication and authorization for critical business applications and assets through single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and federated single sign-on.
- Privileged access management (PAM): The company’s team of consultants helps organizations reduce the risk associated with privileged access through a combination of assessment and implementation services involving PAM solutions. Additionally, GuidePoint provides PAM as-a-service, which includes management and support of the customer’s PAM platform.
Leading the practice is Abhi Sarmah, a seasoned security practitioner who over the past two decades has led many large-scale IAM implementations for Fortune 500 organizations.
“Our practice focuses on ensuring you not only gain the right IAM technology solutions, but also the right expertise and program to fit your organization’s needs,” said Sarmah. “We work hand-in-hand with customers to align Identity and Access Management strategies and services with their business goals and ultimately implement and manage IAM solutions that improve business agility and reduce cyber risk.”
“When we went through our funding with ABS last year, one of the goals was to invest in growth areas for the company,” said Michael Volk, Managing Partner and Founder, GuidePoint Security. “We see Identity and Access Management as a major growth segment of the broader cybersecurity market and want to expand on the expertise and capabilities we already have assembled within the company to deliver critical and valuable solutions to our customers.”
