Sanjay Cherian joins ClearDATA as CSO
ClearDATA announced that it has named healthcare technology veteran Sanjay Cherian as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
With over 20 years of experience as a healthcare strategist and digital health product leader, Cherian will spearhead ClearDATA’s growth strategy and aim to accelerate digital transformation across healthcare and life sciences.
“As healthcare expands its digital reliance and virtual care initiatives increasingly take centerstage, Sanjay’s industry acumen and experience will be key to expanding comprehensive security and compliance solutions for our customers,” said Darin Brannan, Chief Executive Officer at ClearDATA.
“His proven commitment to digital health innovation and SaaS solutions to improve patient care will be integral to achieving our ambitious commitment to the healthcare industry – helping a record-number of healthcare organizations secure transformative innovation in the cloud.”
As a tenured leader in the healthcare IT industry, Cherian has a proven track record of prompting top payors, providers, pharma and digital health product companies to adopt cloud-enabled technologies and achieve scalable growth through SaaS product platforms.
Prior to joining ClearDATA, he was the Vice President of Strategy & Digital Heath at TELUS Health, the largest digital health company in Canada and part of the country’s leading telecommunication company ($14B).
Among his many successes at TELUS, Cherian launched new digital health services, scaling the country’s first FIHR-based interoperable digital health platform integrating primary care among physicians, pharmacists, patients and private payors.
These pioneering new digital health services included online booking, virtual care, electronic prescribing and connecting a variety of innovative third-party digital health apps.
Additionally, Cherian served as Vice President of Pharmacy Innovation at Shoppers Drug Mart where he led the digitization of the medication management process for the country’s largest retail pharmacy chain.
“We’re witnessing a seismic shift in the industry in terms of how providers deliver care and how patients access and manage their sensitive information.
“Data breaches and siloed systems can cripple the advancement toward true digitally-enabled healthcare,” explained Sanjay.
“Now more than ever, ClearDATA’s cloud agnostic security and compliance solutions are absolutely critical to accelerating the digital transformation and scaling of the industry.
“I’m excited to join ClearDATA and support its consequential role in healthcare modernization.”
The addition of this role comes at a pivotal time for ClearDATA as the company broadens its security and compliance solutions to deliver a cloud ecosystem that prevents, detects, and remediates compliance drift and sensitive data security gaps through software and services to meet HIPAA and other regulatory frameworks.
