Cyral gains CISO recognition, adds key hires to its executive team
Cyral has been recognized by CISOs nationwide as a leader in innovative security, worthy of both recognition and investment. In October 2020, Cyral received a strategic investment from Silicon Valley CISO Investments (SVCI), an angel syndicate of more than 50 practicing CISOs investing in a small number of innovative cybersecurity startups.
Soon after, Cyral was awarded two CISO Choice Awards, one for Startup Security Company and the other for Data Security. The CISO Choice Awards are selected by CISOs across multiple industries based on their real-world experiences.
Cyral launched in the second quarter of 2020, and is quickly seeing momentum with customers ranging from Fortune 1000 companies to fast-growing startups, all looking to secure access to their data in the cloud and gain more visibility and context for access management and monitoring. Cyral’s security as code approach allows customers to start using the product in minutes.
To build on its customer momentum, this month Cyral added key hires to its executive team:
- Rahul Hirani joins as VP of Product Management. Hirani brings 10 years of product leadership experience to Cyral, most recently building out the detection and response product group for Duo Security (acquired by Cisco Systems).
- Heather Howland joins as VP of Marketing. Howland brings over 20 years of marketing leadership experience and has spent her career building go to market plans for both Fortune 1000 companies and early-stage startups. Prior to joining Cyral, she has served as VP Marketing for companies such as Preempt Security (acquired by Crowdstrike) and Lacoon Mobile Security (acquired by Check Point) and served as Worldwide Director for Digital Strategy for the IBM Security Division.
Additionally, Cyral has tripled headcount in 2020 and is actively hiring in all departments.
