Zyxel’s business-class access points combine WiFi 6 performance with remote provisioning
Zyxel Networks announced the expansion of its portfolio of wired and wireless networking solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses with the addition of three business-class 802.11ax (WiFi 6) access points.
Providing up to six times the throughput as 11ac access points in high-density environments, Zyxel’s new access points provide consistent connections, low latency and less jitter to maximize network performance for existing client devices.
The new WiFi 6 access points support Zyxel NebulaFlex which enables them to be remotely provisioned using Zyxel Nebula Cloud Management Platform. Network administrators can simply scan a unique QR code on the box using the Nebula app which enables the access points to be set up remotely before shipment to the location for installation.
Once onsite and connected to the network, the access points automatically “call home” to download their pre-configured settings. This can save installation time while minimizing or even eliminating the need to have trained IT staff on site for setup.
Zyxel’s next-generation WiFi 6 access points incorporate Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (ODFMA) and Basic Service Set (BSS) coloring technologies which allow multiple access points to be used in the same vicinity without fear of co-channel interference.
All Zyxel 802.11ax access points integrate 4G/5G interference filters enable coexistence with cellular networks by minimizing interference from 4G/5G antennas and signal boosters.
Combined with MU-MIMO antenna technology, these features enable the new PoE-enabled Zyxel access points to provide unparalleled performance and reliability in high-density environments such as offices, schools and colleges, hotels and restaurants.
The flagship Zyxel WAX650S 802.11ax (WiFi 6) Dual-Radio Unified Pro Access Point ($599 street) is a dual-radio, dual 4×4 MIMO access point that provides a maximum data rate of 3550 Mbps (2400 Mbps in 5 GHz and 1150 Mbps in 2.4 GHz).
Zyxel smart antenna technology mitigates co-channel interference and boosts WiFi 6 performance. To further optimize the wireless experience, WAX650S features Dynamic Channel Selection, Zero Wait DFS, load balancing, and Smart Client Steering.
A third radio is dedicated to scanning and monitoring the wireless network. Ideal for use in retail environments, a built-in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio works with third-party beacon management platforms to enable the use of BLE beacon technology for applications such as indoor navigation and proximity marketing.
Adhering to the high power 802.3bt PoE++ standard, up to eight WAX650S access points can be powered by a single Zyxel XS1930-12HP multi-gigabit switch operating in Smart Power mode for optimized power allocation. A deployment of one WAX650S can be powered by a Zyxel GS1350-6HP gigabit switch.
WAX510D 802.11ax (WiFi 6) Dual-Radio Unified Pro Access Point ($249.99 street) is a dual-radio, dual 2×2 MIMO, access point that provides a maximum data rate of 1775 Mbps (1200 Mbps in 5 GHz and 575 Mbps in 2.4 GHz).
WAX510D, which can be powered by any 802.3at PoE switch, utilizes a dual-optimized antenna with wall and ceiling-mounting modes to allow the selection of optimum radio patterns to maximize coverage while reducing the risk of creating interference.
Both WAX650S and WAX510D access points offer three options for configuration and management. The NebulaFlex-capable access points can be managed either by using the Zyxel Nebula Cloud Network Management Platform or they can be configured as standalone devices.
The access points can also be managed using Zyxel NXC2500 and NXC5500 controllers. Both access points come bundled with a one-year Nebula Professional Pack license.
NWA110AX 802.11ax (WiFi 6) Dual-Radio PoE Access Point ($199 street) is a dual radio, dual 2×2 MIMO, access point that provides maximum data rate of 1775 Mbps (1200 Mbps in 5 GHz and 575 Mbps in 2.4 GHz). NWA110AX, which supports the 802.3at PoE standard, is a NebulaFlex device that can be configured either through Zyxel Nebula cloud or standalone.
“For organizations that need to provide WiFi connectivity in high-density environments, WiFi 6 introduces technologies like OFDMA and enhanced MU-MIMO capabilities that greatly expand the capability of the network to allow an increased number users and devices to be connected to the WiFi without any degradation in performance or response time,” explained Shawn Rogers, Market Development Manager at Zyxel.
“Our new family of 802.11ax products provides businesses of all sizes with high-performance solutions that are easy to deploy and manage. The flexibility in device management options makes the APs ideal for migrating existing networks to WiFi 6 as well as new infrastructure deployments.”
Zyxel 802.11ax (WiFi 6) access points carry a lifetime limited warranty and are available now through all Zyxel authorized resellers and e-Commerce partners.
