Ping Identity provides the identity verification solution for myColorado
Ping Identity, a pioneer in Intelligent Identity, announced that the Ping Intelligent Identity platform provides the identity verification solution for the State of Colorado’s official mobile application, myColorado, which contains the new Colorado Digital ID.
The Digital ID enables Coloradans to display a digital version of their driver license on their smartphones for proof of identification, age and address within Colorado. This could eventually remove the need to carry a physical identification card while drastically improving security, privacy and convenience through the power of intelligent identity.
With a focus on securing the data of Colorado residents and providing innovative solutions that simplify their lives, the State of Colorado selected Ping Identity to provide seamless registration, multi-factor authentication and image verification for the state in conjunction with ID DataWeb and ProofID, Ping Identity’s Channel Delivery Partner of the Year.
The myColorado app allows businesses and government agencies to verify users, while enabling users to filter which of their identity attributes are shared, such as age, date of birth and address, when presenting their Digital IDs. This partnership enabled Colorado to be one of the first states to launch its Digital ID program.
David Coxe, Founder and CEO of ID DataWeb, states, “The myColorado mobile app provides residents of Colorado with safe, trusted and secure access to in-state online services. ID DataWeb is proud to team with Ping Identity and ProofID in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) team to enable secure access to this capability.”
“The myColorado app is the perfect demonstration of how Ping Identity’s Identity and Access Management technology both protects individuals online while also driving digital business and engagement,” added Tom Eggleston, CEO, ProofID.
“As a Colorado-based company, we are incredibly proud to have been part of the development and on-going running of this visionary service alongside the State of Colorado and Ping Identity.”
“The State of Colorado has a history of being forward thinking,” said Andre Durand, Founder and CEO of Ping Identity.
“With the prevalence of smartphones and the need to provide identity security, this is absolutely the direction states and government bodies are heading towards to protect their constituents and improve efficiencies. Ping Identity is proud to be part of a project that will improve the lives and protect the data of people in our home state.”
