Nucleus Cyber becomes a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association
Nucleus Cyber, the intelligent data-centric security company for the modern workplace, announced it has become a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association to work together to defend customers against increasingly sophisticated, fast-moving threats.
Joining The Association provides recognition of the expanded capabilities in Nucleus Cyber’s products that leverage key Microsoft security technologies to provide fine-grained, data-centric security for customer collaboration in Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
As a result, customers benefit from improved conditional access and file usage protection across all collaboration scenarios.
Kurt Mueffelmann, CEO of Nucleus Cyber, said, “Our membership in Microsoft Intelligent Security Association is great validation of the work that we have done to integrate with and extend core Microsoft security technologies and underlines our joint commitment to provide customers with secure collaboration.”
He continued, “NC Protect’s integration with Azure Information Protection (AIP), provides customers with a solution that can dynamically apply AIP labels and protection at time of access right down to the individual file level.
“This allows us to support multiple protection policies for a single file classification in order to protect the data across every conceivable collaboration scenario”
The data protection capabilities of NC Protect enable more granular conditional access and protection of sensitive information.
AIP Label Integration allows NC Protect to:
- Utilize AIP labels as an attribute for applying NC Protect’s Dynamic Access Rules to provide conditional access by augmenting views to control which files a user can see within SharePoint Online, Teams, Yammer and OneDrive user interface.
- NC Protect’s dynamically applied protection can also leverage AIP labels as a condition within the rules for applying encryption and usage rights in addition to other user attributes. The protection rules are evaluated and applied at the point of time that the user accesses the file allowing multiple rules to be configured for a single file classification to support different user scenarios.
Dynamic Watermarks can be applied with NC Protect and be configured to contain any document or user information, including the various user attributes obtained from Azure Active Directory and the Microsoft Graph such as the user’s name or email address.
These unmodifiable watermarks can be used within editable files to remind users of the sensitive nature of the file, as well as track the document’s chain of custody for security and auditing purposes.
“We are pleased to have Nucleus Cyber join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association in our mission to protect customers against growing external and internal threats,” said Ryan McGee, director, security product marketing at Microsoft Corp.
“Secure collaboration is always top priority for our customers, and Nucleus Cyber’s integrations can help customers with highly sensitive data to ensure it remains protected as it is shared through the collaboration lifecycle.”
Nucleus Cyber provides global organizations with a centralized, content and context aware data security solution, NC Protect, that dynamically adjusts access and protection of unstructured files and enterprise social data across Microsoft platforms including SharePoint, Office 365, Teams and Yammer, Dropbox and file shares to ensure sensitive information is being used and shared according to its regulations and policies.
