Optiv Security appoints Todd Weber as CTO
Optiv Security, a security solutions integrator delivering end-to-end cybersecurity solutions across the globe, announced it has appointed Todd Weber as chief technology officer (CTO), Americas.
In this newly created role, Weber helps clients better understand their alternatives, so they can realize technology’s integrated value and achieve better outcomes by briefing clients on technology and market trends in the cybersecurity space; leading analytical, outcome-based research and the publication of use cases, thoughts and opinions about cybersecurity technology; and contributing to the development and deployment of Optiv’s technology-based services.
Weber is also tasked with guiding the evolution of Optiv’s technology strategy and vision. In addition, he is leading all onboarding of Optiv technology partners by doing analysis on their overall technical merit and alignment to Optiv’s technology strategy.
This appointment is the latest example of Optiv’s commitment to helping global clients achieve success by optimizing, integrating, and operationalizing cybersecurity.
“There are a lot of great cybersecurity technologies out there. Unfortunately, enterprise security teams have been inundated with the sheer number of tools available, making it challenging for them to select the right ones for their specific needs,” said Dan Burns, Optiv’s chief executive officer.
“Optiv is dedicated to helping organizations build sustainable, risk-centric foundations for implementing proactive and measurable security programs, which requires a solid understanding of people, processes and technology.
“Todd has an extremely deep knowledge of the technology market and what works where, when and how. As CTO, Americas, he plays a key role in enabling our clients to better bring technology and invention together to realize integrated value and achieve business outcomes.”
Weber brings to his new role more than 20 years of cybersecurity and technology experience. He has held a number of key technical leadership positions since joining the company in 2005. First, as a solutions director, then as vice president of managed services, and most recently as vice president of partner research and strategy.
During his tenure with the company, Weber has designed, built and operated security environments for service providers and some of the largest multinational corporations in the world. Prior to Optiv, Weber served as director of network architecture for ACS and director of network engineering for BlueStar Solutions, among other roles.
“The cybersecurity industry is at an inflection point, and organizations must begin to transform their cybersecurity approaches to keep pace with their continuously evolving business models,” said Weber.
“I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience in network and cybersecurity technology to more fully empower organizations to reduce enterprise risk and realize stronger, simpler and more cost-efficient cybersecurity programs that support business requirements and outcomes.”
