(ISC)² brings its Secure Summit to The Hague
Supporting its membership and the wider sector with continuous education opportunities is a major part of what (ISC)2 does as a membership organisation for certified professionals. Its popular Secure Summit event has moved to The Hague, Netherlands for 2019, with an expanded programme designed to address the wider region.
Taking place at The World Forum on 15-16 April, it is the biggest industry practitioner event yet in EMEA for (ISC)2 members and cybersecurity delegates. It is an opportunity to develop professional knowledge and earn CPE credits – an important part of maintaining certification and awareness of the ever-evolving threat landscape and cybersecurity technologies available.
The conference will feature six tracks offering cutting-edge, educational and thought-provoking sessions on preventing, mitigating, and managing the complex and emerging issues facing today’s cyber security practitioners.
The programme is paired with an exciting series of keynote presentations from inspirational speakers and leading influencers in and around our industry and from within the (ISC)2 membership. With speakers from business, government, academia and the volunteer sector, presentations come from every level – from front-line practitioners and administrators to specialists, senior managers and CISOs.
The Secure Summit will open with a keynote from leading cybersecurity expert Dr Jessica Barker on why pessimism is holding us back and the importance of being optimistic about the future of cybersecurity. Dr Barker will be followed by acclaimed polar explorer Felicity Aston MBE, speaking about her experiences selecting, training and leading a diverse and multinational team of women to ski to the South Pole in 2009. Many of the women had not spent a night in a tent or seen snow before joining the team. It is a compelling story of adventure as well as a valuable perspective on modern leadership and dynamic team management.
The Summit will also provide multiple networking sessions, including opportunities for (ISC)2 Chapters to meet as well as a Town Hall with members of the (ISC)2 leadership team.
The 2019 (ISC)2 Secure Summit EMEA will also host the awards presentation for the EMEA Information Security Leadership Awards. These honours are a unique opportunity to recognise fellow information security and management professionals that have gone the extra mile to enhance security throughout the private and public sectors across the region. These are the only awards that give the cybersecurity community — in particular the more than 20,000 (ISC)2 members across the EMEA region — an opportunity to recognise peers and provide recognition from the world’s largest non-profit membership organisation in our sector.
In all, the 2019 (ISC)2 Secure Summit EMEA represents a wealth of learning opportunity across 40+ sessions including deep dive workshops, simulation exercises, and immersive interactive activities such as the Capture the Flag tournament being staged in conjunction with the Platform for Information Security (PvIB), the association for information security in the Netherlands.
