Tatsoft releases platform for SCADA and beyond
Tatsoft brings a new open platform to SCADA, IIoT and real-time system developers by releasing FactoryStudio 8.1, the latest version of its .NET-to-the-core application development platform.
Tatsoft challenges suppliers of legacy systems by presenting FactoryStudio as the alternative to extend or replace current production monitoring systems.
Tatsoft now offers FactoryStudio in a new Subscription model, to help customers save money up front, instead of purchasing the software outright. The subscription includes Technical Support and Software Maintenance, allows upgrade to perpetual licenses, and has options suitable for small projects up to unlimited tags and unlimited users at a fixed priced value.
To meet the need for IIoT applications, Tatsoft also introduces EdgeHMI and IIoT Gateway. Tatsoft EdgeHMI is designed for local HMIs and Panel or embedded PC applications with one local and one remote display, while the IIoT-Gateway acts as a remote data collector for the centralized server.
Mobility has always been a key feature of FactoryStudio. In release 8.1, the same project and symbols can be displayed in a variety of platforms, including .NET Smart Clients, an iOS App and HTML5 clients.
Marc Taccolini, Tatsoft’s CEO, explains: “This isn’t an announcement, it’s the final release on what our early adopters were already using for over a year.”
Collaboration tools were also improved, as explained by Dave Hellyer: “Plug-ins allow sharing components across multiple projects, with concurrent distributed engineering.”
Another new tool is a Wonderware InTouch Import Utility which imports the Tag Database, Alarm and I/O definition from the legacy application into your FactoryStudio project, which allows users to leverage their computer hardware investment.
