ManageEngine enhances Firewall Analyzer and EventLog Analyzer
ManageEngine announced enhancements to its firewall security and configuration management software, Firewall Analyzer, and to EventLog Analyzer, its log management and IT compliance software for SIEM.
Now, Firewall Analyzer provides security policy management for Cisco and FortiNet firewalls as well as reporting on used and unused firewall policies and policy objects. EventLog Analyzer can now manage event logs from Amazon Web Server Windows instances and collect audit logs generated by AS/400 and MS SQL systems.
Companies defending against cyber-attacks are finding it critical to analyze traffic patterns of their firewalls’ most used and unused policies. Unused policies, in particular, can leave the network vulnerable to a brute force attack. Meanwhile, a growing number of IT organizations are expanding beyond a single premise to include co-location facilities as well as public cloud services.
In all cases, IT teams are challenged to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats and to maintain compliance with internal security policies and regulatory directives such as PCI DSS, FISMA, SOX and HIPAA.
“To ensure a secure corporate network, network admins must plug all the possible security holes and monitor the traffic patterns in real time to spot unintended network traffic,” said Pravin Kumar, product manager at ManageEngine “With this release of Firewall Analyzer, our customers can analyze firewall policies and rules, pinpoint security flaws in their network and track traffic information visually using a geo-location map view.”
The new features for Firewall Analyzer 8.0 and EventLog Analyzer 8.6 are available immediately.
