Lord Sebastian Coe to keynote RSA Conference Europe 2013
RSA Conference announced Olympic champion, politician and former chair of the 2012 Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games, Lord Sebastian Coe to its lineup of keynote speakers for the 14th annual RSA Conference Europe, taking place from 29 – 31 October 2013, at Amsterdam RAI, The Netherlands.
Known as one of the greatest athletes of his generation, Lord Coe is a four-time Olympic medal winner with eight outdoor and three indoor world records in middle-distance track events. Following his achievements on the track, Lord Coe turned his attention to politics.
His political work included serving as a Member of Parliament, a Government Whip and Private Secretary to William Hague before settling into his role as chairman of the British Olympic Association.
Lord Coe’s combined background was on full display during his efforts in helping London secure the 2012 Olympic bid. Once secured, his work as Chairman of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games resulted in arguably the most successful Olympiad of the modern era.
“Lord Coe has maintained success in the worlds of athletics and politics for more than four decades,” said Sandra Toms LaPedis, Vice President and General Manager of RSA Conferences. “His sustained appetite for success resonates with the security industry where every day brings new opportunities to rise to new challenges. Lord Coe will give attendees the unique opportunity to hear about how technology and teamwork helped Britain stage a safe and successful landmark event in 2012.”
