Secure Windows desktops by removing administrator privileges
BeyondTrust released PowerBroker for Windows 6.0, an identity management solution that allows customers to take a system’s overall risk into context when deciding what level of privileges a user or system should be given.
This release also includes new session monitoring capabilities to record, track, or disallow user activity, further policy integration with Retina CS, and a redesigned Windows 8 user interface.
Session monitoring
BeyondTrust customers now have the ability to record user activity on a per application basis. This capability is essential in troubleshooting and forensic work, and provides additional context around vulnerability by recording and monitoring user behavior.
File integrity monitoring
This feature adds an additional security layer, allowing or denying access to modify files in the directory. Access can be targeted to applications and or users.
Retina CS policy deployment
Retina CS can now be used to store and distribute PowerBroker for Windows 6.0 policies. Group policy is no longer required (but may still be used), which provides a single pane of glass for reporting and policy creation via Retina CS.
