Stonesoft a2Cloud: Strong authentication for secure cloud access
Stonesoft announced its new a2Cloud solution which offers secure access to the cloud with usability, minimal administration and low total cost of ownership.
a2Cloud delivers secured access to the cloud through multi-factor and multi-method authentication, and is comprised of Stonesoft’s Authentication Server and SSL VPN – both of which are centrally managed by the StoneGate Management Center.
Recent trends such as cloud computing and virtualization have defined new security challenges for CIOs and CISOs, with access and authentication leading the way. As such, organizations are demanding solutions that combine identity and access management with traditional authentication systems.
At the same time, organizations need this high level of security to be delivered to end users in a way that feels natural and works seamlessly with the tools they are already familiar with — namely tablets and smart phones. The Stonesoft a2Cloud solution has been designed to meet these needs.
The a2Cloud solution provides four strong authentication methods that are intuitive and convenient to use:
Password – based on username/password pair
MobileID synchronized – dual-factor strong authentication method based on a one-time password generated on MobileID client token software. To generate the OTP, the user types in the PIN.
MobileID challenge – three-factor strong authentication method based on a one-time password generated on MobileID client token software. To generate the OTP, the user types in the PIN and a challenge received by the system.
Mobile text – strong authentication method where a one-time password is sent via a text message.
