GFI warns that a search for sites reporting on the upcoming royal wedding can take make you end up on a page simulating an antivirus scan and offering a fake AV solution by the name of “XP Antispyware”.
ESET confirms that searching for things related to the wedding is almost guaranteed to get you offered the same malware.
Users are advised to be very careful when searching for information on the big event and to expect a rise in poisoned search results as the data approaches. Alternatively, they can check out established legitimate news sites for the latest gossip.
