Open authentication standards and OATH
In this podcast, Siddharth Bajaj, Principal at Verisign Labs and Chair of the Joint Coordination Committee which leads the Initiative for OATH (Open AuTHentication), talks about OATH and the work it has been doing the last 5 years: creating industry standards and moving strong authentication towards wider adoption.
He explains the implications of using open standards (algorithms) that they have created, and goes in detail about the various standards – one-time password algorithm, one-time password time-based algorithm, OATH challenge response algorithm, and others – and their implementation and integration with the existing technology, finishing with the announcement a new OATH certification program.
