Utimaco releases SafeGuard Enterprise 5.1

This cross-platform security suite for 360-degree data protection of confidential data integrates multiple new functions including flexible policy management for hard disk encryption and removable media, and support of additional smartcard readers, smartcards and USB devices such as the Aladdin eToken. SafeGuard Enterprise 5.0 was initially launched at CeBIT 2007.

SafeGuard Enterprise 5.1 ensures data security on all types of end devices, such as desktop PCs and laptops. In addition, data is secured on removable media such as USB flash drives, memory cards as well as rewriteable CDs and DVDs.

The data security suite targets mid-sized to large corporations that need to store and process data across multiple platforms and secure corporate confidential information wherever it resides – at rest, in motion or in use. SafeGuard Enterprise is based on an open, modular architecture that enables scalable security using a central, auditable management module.

This new release also provides greater management flexibility, allowing security policies to be specified for both removable media and hard disk encryption. Different security requirements for removable media, PCs or laptops can be set centrally in the Management Center.
