New wave of FBI spam

BitDefender warns users about a new wave of spam aimed at poisoning Bayesian spam filters. The increased volume of spam was sparked by recent attempts by the FBI to curb spam in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) by holding training programs for local law-enforcement centers that deal with organized crime.

The spam e-mails advertise the usual mix of drugs and software but include false sender addresses, which include: fbi[domain]war@[domain].[tld]. The actual content is delivered as an image, while the body text is made up of random words and phrases designed to increase the rate at which filters misidentify legitimate e-mail as spam.
