AEP Networks launches AEP Net Remote for secure remote working on high assurance networks
London, UK – 13 March 2006 – AEP Networks Ltd is pleased to announce the availability of AEP Net Remote. Designed specifically for UK Government and public sector agencies, Net Remote enables mobile and home workers to access classified applications and data over the Internet, by securing personal remote communications to Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG) Enhanced Grade [Confidential] standard.
AEP Net Remote will be demonstrated on the AEP Networks stand, No. 604, at Infosecurity Europe, Olympia, London, 25-26 April.
AEP Net Remote works across a range of network access technologies including remote office LAN, broadband, and Ethernet enabled WiFi, yet dramatically reduces the cost overhead and restrictions of remote communications at Enhanced Grade. Offering unparalleled flexibility, Net Remote has been designed from the outset to support a full spectrum of demanding applications including Voice over IP (VoIP) and Video over IP.
Rob Lane, AEP Networks’ EVP for Secure Networking, explains “AEP Net Remote is a first, in that it addresses the UK Government’s stated desire to provide remote access to a greater number of Government employees while meeting CESG’s rigorous security standards.”
Building upon AEP Networks’ proven management system, AEP Net Remote offers a highly flexible, scalable stand-alone solution. It also integrates seamlessly with existing AEP Net encryptor solutions and incorporates a number of unique features, including “tunnel routing’ for authorised users to access resources on AEP Net secured intranets and extranets.
To accompany a feature rich specification, Net Remote customers can minimise their total cost of ownership for classified remote access. Modular design enables rapid deployment, while customers can evolve their networks without major reconfiguration and investment. Moreover, Managed Service Providers can now offer tailored secure remote access solutions for complex user communities.
Rob Lane concludes “With the spotlight always on demonstrating value for money to tax payers, AEP Net Remote allows Government to reduce expenditure yet offer excellent security, performance and functionality to its remote workers. Why? Flexible deployment options, ease of use, unlimited scalability and good central management minimise the cost of ownership without compromising on security or features. We look forward to demonstrating this exciting product to customers at Infosecurity.”
