Pointsec Joins Industry Leaders in Microsoft’s SecureIT Alliance
High Wycombe- February 14, 2006 – Pointsec Mobile Technologies, the global leader and the provider of the de facto standard for enterprise security software for laptop and desktop PCs, PDAs and smartphones, today announced that it has joined the SecureIT Alliance where it will work with industry leaders to provide security solutions for the Microsoft platform. As a member of the SecureIT Alliance, Pointsec will work to enhance Microsoft applications platform security and to provide more trustworthy computing solutions to customers worldwide.
“Endpoint security is becoming a growing concern to many organizations as we see lost and stolen laptops and PCs make headlines on a regular basis,” said Gerry Albert, Group Manager of the SecureIT Alliance. “We welcome Pointsec’s expertise in the areas of full-disk encryption solutions for large enterprise environments that address these risks, and look forward to working with them as with other alliance members who provide our customers with security solutions for the Microsoft platform, as can be seen at www.secureitalliance.org.”
The SecureIT Alliance is a community of partners with products and services designed to enhance Microsoft applications platform security. Partners are linked through a collaborative Web-community where they work on new product design, development, testing and security threat-protection scenarios through an interactive, private developer Web-portal.
“Data encryption for laptops, PCs, mobile devices and even removable media is quickly becoming a security requirement as organizations begin to understand the risk of exposing sensitive information through lost, stolen or discarded endpoint equipment,” said Peter Larsson, Chief Executive Officer of Pointsec. “As the market leader in endpoint encryption, Pointsec believes that industry cooperation is vital to helping large enterprises better protect their digital assets in a real-world business environment. We look forward to a productive relationship with the SecureIT Alliance.”
Pointsec’s mobile device encryption software ensures that all or selected parts of a mobile device’s data can be encrypted in real time and can only be accessed by an authenticated user. Pointsec has become the most widely deployed data protection solution because it offers:

* Guaranteed deployment due to innovative central management
* Widest coverage of mobile platforms including Windows and Linux desktop and notebook PCs, Symbian-, Microsoft-, and Palm- based smartphones and PDAs, as well as removable storage devices such as USB drives and CDs
Pointsec has been instrumental in helping businesses better understand the threats to their mobile data.
